It's been a good long run, everyone! Although I definitely could have done better organizing this, it's been a learning experience and I'm hoping to do this charity again, with some more helpers. (Fes Works of the Webcomic Beacon has expressed interest in starting it up again. Let me know if you are also willing to volunteer for organizing!)
A HUGE thank you to all the participating artists, it wouldn't have been possible without you. If/when we do this event again, it will definitely be better scheduled and more clearly outlined, but we did quite well, all things considered. =)
In total, we raised $300 dollars through the sale of the in-character webcomic postcards. The profits were lent to La Reforma 1 & 2 Group, Lucrecia Castillo, and the Odzi Group.
A small loan of $25-100 might not seem much to you, but it makes a huge difference to struggling business owners, educational groups, and artisans who need that extra financial boost to get started. Best of all, the money you lend eventually comes back to your account, and can be re-lent to new loaners, so your donation is the gift that keeps on giving.
I highly encourage anyone with $25 or more to spare to consider lending through Kiva.

Hello pretty pretties,
We are gearing up to have all the postcards ready to print! Unfortunately, I am still missing in-character messages from these people:
- Ran Brown- End Comic
- Laurel - Chorus of the Neverborn
- Arbol 6 - Villain's Club
- Reogun and DMK Butterflies and Hurricanes
- Michelle - Oscurare
- Richie Datsu and Asukki-san - The Infamous
- S.G. McKeithen - Half-Death
- Jason and Jenny - Wonderland
- Kevin Ward - Retail Gods
Here are the instructions for the in-character message submission:
Please send the card to elena at yamiloo.com with the Subject: "In-Character Message." This will help me find them more easily, and hopefully prevent them from heading directly for my spam folder as some have been doing.
As you know, each postcard will have an in-character personal message from one of your webcomic characters. Like the front of the card you submitted, the personal message from your character/s will also be printed. You can handwrite and scan it, use a "handriting" style font, or draw it digitally with a tablet. The important thing is that it looks written by hand.
I've just finished the template for the back of the card, including my in character message as a sample.
DOWNLOAD THE .PSD TEMPLATE HERE!
Please remember to delete all the guidelines (in the "Guide" folder layer) before submitting your final CMYK, 300dpi jpeg to me. The PSD file is already set up at those specs. If anyone needs the template in jpeg format, please let me know.
P.S. Artists! If you have not already, please join the Webcomic Charity mailing list so you will get all these updates right in your inbox!

You votes have spoken! We will be donating the proceeds of this charity to Kiva.
(Natalie Portman approves this.)
Kiva's mission is to connect people, through lending, for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva empowers individuals to lend to an entrepreneur across the globe. By combining microfinance with the internet, Kiva is creating a global community of people connected through lending. By connecting people we can create relationships beyond financial transactions, and build a global community expressing support and encouragement of one another.
The thing about Kiva is that it's not ACTUALLY a charity, but a micro-loan company. This means that all the money donated there will eventually be paid back. So the money generated from this can be re-used to keep finding small businesses. It's the gift that keeps on giving. =)
