About
This project was inspired by the Comic Creators Alliance charity.
Sadly, I was too late to the party to actually participate. I decided I would try to organize my own charity project (as you can never have too many of those!) While trying to think of an original way for webcomic artists to earn money, I remembered a Sister Claire food contest I held back in December 2009. Every reader who sent in an entry received a postcard from Sister Claire herself. (see photo.)
The readers loved it, and it was so much fun writing personal messages in character! And so I thought, "Wouldn't it be AWESOME if a ton of cool webcomic artists did this to raise money?" And thus, the Webcomic Charity was born.
The idea is simple: each artist creates a postcard design, with a message from the main character of their comic!
Each donation of 5 dollars gets you one card. Donators will specify on their donation form which cards they want.
If you'd like to donate less than 5 dollars, you can still do so! You won't get a postcard mailed to you, but you will get a special digital graphic from me, Yamino! =)
All the proceeds (except for the cost of printing and mailing the cards) will be donated to Kiva.
(Natalie Portman approves this.)
